My Story
My name is Dani Farmer, and I am a Certified Doula and Lactation Specialist, a military spouse, an Army veteran, and mother of 2. Through both my military career and my own experiences as a parent, I have seen firsthand how often families are expected to navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery without the support they truly deserve.
In military life especially, families are frequently separated from their support systems, moving between duty stations, and giving birth in unfamiliar hospitals — all while trying to make critical decisions about their bodies, their babies, and their futures. I watched friends, fellow service members, and loved ones struggle through birth and postpartum without guidance, advocacy, or education. Many felt unheard, overwhelmed, or left to figure it out alone.
That is where my passion for birth work began.
I became a certified doula and lactation specialist because I believe that every family deserves continuous, compassionate, and informed support — not just medical care, but someone who is fully present for them emotionally and practically. I created Operation Nurture to ensure that families, especially military families, have a trusted advocate in their corner through one of the most powerful and vulnerable seasons of their lives.
Supporting families through birth and early parenthood is not just my profession — it is my mission.
